Inflammation, exercise and your gut bacteria….is there a connection?
Do you exercise? Here is a question; Do you think exercise would have any effect on your gut microbiome (combination of types of bacteria) that could influence the amount of inflammation (joint pain/discomfort) in your body? Yes? No?
Here is the answer; YES exercise DOES have an effect on the microbiome in that is LOWERS the bacteria type associated with increased inflammation (proteobacteria) and INCREASES the anti-inflammatory associated bacteria (Verrucomicrobia).
